I started indulging in EGB fan activity towards the end of my school career i.e. just when I was getting out of practice at drawing. About twenty years later, I took it up again. Here is the EGB fanart (and, indeed, EGB Fan art!) that I've managed to produce. Some adult(ish) content.

This image was inspired by Salvador Dali’s surrealistic painting The Great Masturbator
(links to the original image, and an explanation/analysis for those who want it). The idea came to me because Eduardo has three things that I feel lend themselves to homage of this painting: a distinctive profile, insecurities, and of course the raging hots for Kylie. (I’m not being funny, but I also think he has quite a distinctive crotch.) |

Kylie's Adventures Underground

The original inspiration here was an episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, in which this happened to the titular character (I do not at all know why the same thing has now happened to Kylie). I have copied the Alice costume worn by Tina Majorino in the 1999 TV movie, my favourite Alice in Wonderland adaptation, which is altogether very Tennielian; so is the Hatter's half-guinea price label, which quite obviously he can never do without. Aside from these things, I have tried to steer away from John Tenniel's original illustrations and do my own thing. The title is (of course!) in homage to Lewis Carroll's first draft working title, Alice's Adventures Underground, and was suggested by Jake.
Developing Roland into the March Hare was one of the hardest challenges I have ever set myself! He's only even in that role because (typical of how one treats Old Reliable) they were left for each other. Garrett as the Mad Hatter just feels right, and Slimer is a nice size for the Dormouse. Pagan as the Cheshire Cat was glaringly obvious. Egon and Janine had to be a king/queen pair (if only to satisfy certain persons), and my first thoughts were with the Queen of Hearts (à la Sabrina). However, once I realised that Eduardo had to be Kylie's White Knight, I also realised I needed more from Through the Looking-Glass (and, more specifically, the chess game). Red was preferable to white for a number of reasons, perhaps chief among which was that there is something potentially very interesting in the sleeping Red King, and Alice/Kylie being 'only a sort of thing in his dream'.

The title of this one comes from 'The True Face of a Monster' (obviously!), but the scene itself was inspired by 'The Jersey Devil', in which Garrett says that he 'voted to spend spring break at Daytona Beach'. I checked... and it turns out there wouldn't be a slingshot ride there for another twenty years. Oh well! They were in operation elsewhere, and if the gang ever got near one, you can be certain that Garrett would be trying to persuade the others to go on it with him. I thought this was the most likely outcome.
